# Mandala – Clean uninstall procedure

Starting from Mandala V1.3, the install procedure has changed (the plugin is no longer loaded from maya.env, but as a module). Also, lot of bugs during install have been fixed in this version.

It is recommended to fully uninstall a previous version if you already have one.
Make sure you keep your software key in a safe place before following these steps:

#### 1/ Uninstall using Add/Remove programs

#### 2/ Cleanup maya.env file

Open **maya.env**, usually located in **C:\Users\<user>\Documents\maya\2024**
Remove any line that includes "mandala". If you don't have other plugins installed, you can just delete the maya.env file, it will be re-created next time you run Maya.

#### 3/ Optionally, remove all python packages.

Delete all the files in:
**C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python37\site-packages** for maya 2022
**C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python39\site-packages** for maya 2023
**C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python310\site-packages** for maya 2024
Note: This will not affect your Maya install, but might affect other plugins.

**4/ Optionally, delete the models definition file**
Find the file **mandala_models.json** which should be located in <HF_HOME>. This is the folder you selected to install your models in during install. Additionally, deleting the entire folder just means the models will be downloaded from the source again.
