Installation Guide

Requirements #

A decent GPU with CUDA installed. A GPU of the 20XX series at least is recommended. 30XX is good, 40XX is even better. Mandala only works locally (for now at least). I haven’t tested it on anything else than an NVidia graphics card. It runs pretty smoothly on my 3060 Ti.
Autodesk Maya, at least the 2022 version, with Arnold (5.0.0.0 at least) installed
A Huggingface account (to download the models). See below.
An Internet connection to download the models.

Installation #

Get yourself a free HuggingFace account: HuggingFace.co
Grab your API key here. It’s also called a ‘user access token’.
Install the latest CUDA if you don’t have it already.
Download and install GIT: https://gitforwindows.org/
(use default installer settings for everything)
Install Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 redistributable
Download and run Mandala’s installer. When asked for it, choose a folder in a drive with plenty of free space. Models are sometimes huge, so 200 GO is a minimum.
Then, paste your HuggingFace API key. You might already have it installed though, in which case the installer will detect it automatically.
